Thing 3 - Communication

Skype has become a great tool for my family and friends. I have communicated with my son during deployment to Iraq, a friend while in South Africa, and my grandchildren in Alaska.

How would I use this on a professional level? I work with library parapros in many locations. I gather them together on a monthly basis for a bit of pd, some tech-type training elements and collaborative conversation. I would start them out with a presentation of this tool while they are gathered together and set up a communication with someone such as a children's author that would most impress them and make them want to explore this themselves. I would then open the conversation to the uses of this tool in their libraries or in their teacher's classrooms.

The more you use this tool, the more comfortable you become.
